The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame is once again participating in the Indiana-Kentucky Hall of Fame Challenge Cup for some of the leading teams from each state.
The one-day event will take place Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the New Castle Fieldhouse in New Castle, Ind., and feature games for both boys and girls teams. The first of five contests will tip off at 12 p.m., with the last one starting at approximately 8 p.m.
A best-of-five game format will determine the winner of the 2019 Hall of Fame Challenge Cup, with five great teams from Indiana going head-to-head with five great teams from Kentucky.

6 p.m. (Boys) Silver Creek vs. Louisville Male
8 p.m. (Boys) Huntington North vs Henry Clay
This year’s Challenge Cup will be played in honor and support of American veterans and is sponsored by the Indiana and Kentucky Basketball Coaches Associations. Proceeds from the charity event benefit each state’s Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Challenge Cup was played first in 2014 at historic Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., site of six NCAA Division 1 championships and 20 Sweet 16 championships and has alternated locations between the two states in subsequent years.

- “In the Clutch” free throw contest
- National Guardsmen will serve as honorary coaches for teams
- A traveling trophy will be given to the state winner of best of five game format for display in their Hall of Fame. All individual players will receive participant awards.
