WELCOME TO THE KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME. We will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM starting the first week of July.

Kentucky is a proud state that is synonymous across this great nation with three things; horse racing, bourbon, and BASKETBALL. In Kentucky, basketball is not just a game; it’s a way of life for players, coaches, and fans from the smallest community to the biggest city. Basketball is a part of our culture. The history, tradition, and passion for high school basketball in this state is unrivaled. Kentucky and Delaware are the only states with an “open” state basketball championship tournament.
In 2009 a group of coaches from the KABC (Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches) dreamed of creating a “basketball only” high school basketball hall of fame and museum to not only honor and recognize but also protect the great heritage of Kentucky High School Basketball. The dream became a reality in 2011, and in 2012 the KHSBHF inducted its inaugural class. As of 2019, 112 deserving players and coaches have been inducted.
It is often said, “basketball is a religion” in Kentucky, so it is fitting the KHSBHF and museum found a permanent home inside the refurbished 19th Century former home of the First Presbyterian Church, which is on the National Register of Historic Places in centrally located Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
The Hall of Fame and Museum is a place where we celebrate Kentucky’s unique, but rich high school basketball history and tradition with pictures, plaques, and innovative and transformative experiences to educate, engage, enlighten, and inspire our visitors. We also promote the “Essence of the Game,” which spotlights the valuable lessons taught through the experiences of playing this incredible team sport.
The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame and Museum is a registered, independent, non-profit charitable 501 (c) 3. Contributions are tax-deductible. We rely on generous donations, attendance, gift shop sales, funds generated through fundraising events, and gifts. All of these contributions help ensure Kentucky’s high school basketball history and tradition are protected, remembered, and have a future of growth and stability for generations to enjoy.
So, enjoy your museum experience. We are the KENTUCKY High School Basketball Hall of Fame. Although we belong to everyone in the Bluegrass state, we are here to be enjoyed by all regardless of their home state.

Kentucky High School Basketball Hall Of Fame
Without the support and generosity of businesses and individuals, The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame would not be able to honor the outstanding individuals who embody the heart and soul of Kentucky High School Basketball. Please join us in thanking those who would see excellence in team sports and exemplary leadership achievements recognized.
