Double coverage and gimmick defenses could not keep Scott Draud from being a prolific scorer. He led the state in scoring his junior (31 ppg) and senior (35 ppg) seasons. He is the leading scorer in Highlands High School history with 2865 points as well as the leading scorer in Ninth Region history. Scott was recognized on the state and national level. He was 1st team All-State in 1985 and 1986 and was chosen to play in both the Derby Classic and Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game his senior year. Scott led his team to the Sweet 16 in 1986 and was named to the All-State Tournament Team. He earned a basketball scholarship to Vanderbilt University where he had a stellar career.
