Jack Upchurch

Wayne County High School 1953-1957 Until recently, and for over 50 years, Jack had held the all-time scoring record at Wayne County High. He had a career scoring record of 2,441 points with 1036 rebounds. His scoring average was over 24 points per game. For his achievements, Jack was named to the 1957 Kentucky East All-Star Team and was recognized as All-State in 1957. Jack Upchurch would go on to great coaching success, being named Kentucky’s Coach of the Year in 1971 while at Anderson County High School.
