“Nobody ever drowned in sweat,” was a motto of Coach Fookes. Recognized as a high-energy coach, her intensity was contagious, and her teams showed it. During her 30-year career, she amassed nine (9) KHSAA State Tournament appearances with two (2) of her teams making the final four. Coach Fookes has compiled a 686 – 285 coaching record, which ranks 4th on the KHSAA all-time coaching list. To honor her legacy, the basketball court at Boone County High School is named in her honor.
