Rudy would lead Shawnee High School to the Sweet 16 in 1976 and be named to the All-State and All-State Tournament Teams that same year. He furthered his career at LSU where he became a star performer for Coach Dale Brown. Rudy was named to the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame for his career achievements.
