Bob Tallent is one of the four Tallent brothers who put Maytown High School on the Kentucky basketball map. The talented brothers (Bill, Bob, Mike and Pat) were All-State performers. Bob scored over 2,300 points over a four-year career and averaged 40 points per game during his senior year. He was named to the 1964 Courier Journal All-State and Parade All-American Teams. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to the University of Kentucky becoming the “sixth man” on the 1966 Rupp’s Runts squad that made a national championship run. Bob transferred to George Washington University for his junior year and was the third leading scorer in the nation during his senior year.
