The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to announce its 2023 “Glory Road” project. This project will recognize and honort h e many gymnasiums across Kentucky that have historical significance in the development of the cultural phenomenon of Kentucky High School basketball. For more than 100 years, Kentucky high school basketball has been embraced by Kentuckians who came together in gymnasiums of various shapes and sizes to support their teams. Over time, the KHSBHF will recognize many iconic gymnasiums along with the schools
and communities that built them.

Prestonsburg High School gymnasium, known as Prestonsburg Field House, was opened January
1958. The Field Houseinstantly became a centerpiece tohost regional, district, and the Floyd County preseasontournaments due to the size and capacity of 4,000.

The Field House has hosted numerous events including 21 regional tournaments, 27 district tournaments, over 30 preseason tournaments, district and regional volleyball, and district and regional cheer and dance events. The Field House also hosted 1St public Kentucky Opry Concert, The Harlem Globetrotters, and a circus.

The”Glory Road” game at Prestonsburg High School wil be held February 3rd against Floyd Central. The girls gamestarts at 6:30 and introductions will be between games. Teams from the 1960’s who won Regional Tournaments will be recognized.
