
T.W. Oliver Gym is officially named a Glory Road Site!
This was a special night as T.W. Oliver Gym in Pikeville was named the latest venue in Kentucky to receive the ultimate status of being named a Glory Road site by the KHSBHF.

Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame, represented by Sid Trivette and Jim Stewart, presented the award recognizing T.W. Oliver Gym as an official Glory Road Site! The award recognizes gymnasiums that represent a great tradition of Kentucky basketball history and culture!

John Bill Trivette!
During the Glory Road games tonight, PHS alumni Lucas Burchett presented the family of John Bill Trivette with a Pikeville jacket in honor of the many
contributions Trivette made to Panther basketball.

Trivette coached the Pikeville Panthers from 1944 to 1960, amassing a 427-126 record.
During his career, Trivette led his teams to seven regional championships and 14 district titles. The Louisville Courier-Journal named Trivette coach of the year in 1957, when his team finished third in the state tournament after being ranked No. 1 much of the season.
John Bill Trivette was inducted into the Kentucky Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.
