Coach Todd spent seven seasons as head coach at Berea High School where his team reached the KHSAA State Tournament semi-finals in 1998. The next seven seasons were spent at Lexington Catholic High where his teams attained 3 KHSAA State Championships and 2 runner-up titles. He is one of the few coaches to have reached the state finals in 4 consecutive seasons. His 2005-06 team listed five All-State players and seven who would go on to play at the Division 1 level, earning Coach Todd the EA Sports National Coach of the Year award.
